Woke up on an island shore

I find myself awoken on the shores of a savage island where great lizards walk the earth. Life has been hard so far, even the plant eaters are dangerous, we lost Cletus on the first day under the foot of a bronto. I am now on what the locals call "herb island". I have managed to tame a spikey beast, who naturally i dubbed "prickles". I am currently constructing a raft to ferry mydelf to the mainland, in hopes i can find a place to settle, as it looks like there is nobody coming to rescue us. May God have mercy on our souls.
