The best way is to stay in the shallows. My main base is on Herbi island and it is surrounded by Leeds, and the only way without underwater turrets or OneWings design is by staying close to the mainland.

Yeah Datto is right. Even a fully enclosed metal ship will get wiped by them. Stay in shallows. Or K mode and check the area before you make a crossing.
