TBH this whole paid DLC scandal whilst dinos still fall through floors and FPS are still shit even on my new 1070, has left a very sour taste in my mouth.

I would say you have a bottleneck somewhere else, I have a 1070 MSI Armour and have no issue running ark on max settings on a 2560x1080 display.

Really don't think scorched earth is that bad either, until now they've released shitloads of content without charge including the center map and look around at every other game on steam screwing people over on DLC like Payday 2, Rocket League, Dota2 just to name a few.

You also have to think of development time; they originally have Ark (TheIsland), now they have TheCenter, Primitive+ and ScorchedEarth.
instead of focussing on 1 game + map, they now have to split their time with 1 game and 3 maps, pretty much lowering their teams effectiveness to 33%, slowing development time, and public release.
Its looking to me the team is getting bored and looking at ways to bring more players on board because they are too slow at making the game public, increasing costs and requiring people to spend $$$ cause they are spreading themselves too thin to finish this game.

but thats just my opinion!

Wouldn't shock me if they never do a 'public release'. At this stage it wouldn't shock me if a large chunk of the game would require a rewrite to come close to what anyone would consider a finished product.
