Hello muchbetter321,
The Anti-Raiding protection is for bases, this doesnt prevent people from stealing from you or attacking you, just protects stuff within your base.
Dont expect safety in this game as people will raid what they can, thats why during the weekdays the protection allows the players to help build up their defences.

i was IN my base with the door CLOSED, how exactly can i build my base up if people are allowed to just steal my stuff right up, even if i am in my house which has no gaps no holes nothing and the door closed

just try your best, just remember its just a game, even though i know its a struggle sometimes.
