Hi there Munki,
I know that you have now made at least two edits to the settings regarding dino imprinting, but something still doesn't seem to be working. Other players can add insight to what I'm about to say or correct me, but it appears impossible to get 100% imprinting on the Centre server for argys, pteras, troodons and dimorphs (these are the ones we've tested with tribe members literally imprinting the second or so that the baby dino is ready). We have however been able to get 100% on some other dinos. The issue with the argy, ptera, dimorph and troodons at least, is that they mature before ready to get their last imprint in. Is this intentional? If not, perhaps you could let us know the settings you are using so one of us can have a fiddle in our own .ini files and see what works best and recommend it to you to try out before implementing in the server? I would imagine that if the maturation is increased by (for argument's sake) a factor of two, then you would need to half the number of imprints required/make each imprint twice as effective to counteract the animal growing quicker.
Keen to hear your thoughts on this. Even if intentional, we would just like to know as some of my tribe members have been quite disheartened staying with their breeding lines/settings timers on their phones to imprint only to have it still not mature to 100% imprinting. I know you do this outside of your rl commitments and if you're not free, I'm happy to fiddle in a sp map with the settings you use so I can come up with something that seems to work and recommend it to you to see if you agree.
Cheers,

The Centre Taming Settings:
you welcome to run through testing on your own, i wont change these settings unless its confirmed to improve taming for all.
Code: Select all
GameUserSettings.ini
TamingSpeedMultiplier=2.5
Game.ini
MatingIntervalMultiplier=1.0
BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier=5.0
EggHatchSpeedMultiplier=5.0
BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier=0.80
BabyCuddleGracePeriodMultiplier=0.5
BabyCuddleLoseImprintQualitySpeedMultiplier=0.5

Thankyou, I'll let you know what I find and leave it to you to consider it.
Thanks again,
Thanks again,
Re: Centre Map imprinting issues
I haven't tested this on my sp server yet... but I intend to use this spread sheet to test out if what it's proposing on a x5 maturation server will work out well. According to this spreadsheet, the settings should be:
GameUserSettings.ini
TamingSpeedMultiplier=2.5
Game.ini
MatingIntervalMultiplier=1.0
BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier=5.0
EggHatchSpeedMultiplier=5.0
BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier=0.60
BabyCuddleGracePeriodMultiplier=1.0
BabyCuddleLoseImprintQualitySpeedMultiplier=1.0
The other issue is that imprinting settings range on a set of values that are random depending on the individual baby. That means (for example) you can hatch a spino, and it will take X many hours to fully mature. However, it will be given a random allotment of how long it is between each care requirement/the % the care offers so it could be different to another spino you hatch. What this means is, that there may be some cases where someone has just honestly drawn the short straw as it were, and will have a baby born that will only be able to get just shy of 100%. If I did values that guaranteed 100%, it would mean that it would be too easy to get 100% given that range of care interval I mentioned earlier. So I am basing it on the average times. Hope this makes sense.
I'll test out these settings for allo, argy and ptera. If anyone else wants to also test other dinos in a single player .ini game I'd be curious to know how they go.

Re: Centre Map imprinting issues
Hey just throwing this out there to see if others would want this too. There is a mod that shows you what mutations your dinos have. And shows the like ancestry line of where they got it.
Anyone else interested in that?
Good luck with the imprent multipliers btw

Re: Centre Map imprinting issues
I managed to get a 100% argie but it was very very close, I got the first 2 imprints right away and the last one only had a 5 minute gap before it was mature.
Re: Centre Map imprinting issues
The imprent settings have been changed a couple times since then kiffy. Some dinos could get 100% but some also couldnt.

That sounds interesting. If you find the mod page, could you attach the steam link? I'd be curious of it, even for mucking around on sp.

Re: Centre Map imprinting issues
I haven't finished testing yet, it seems my original stats I put up (that Munki has now set it to) will make it close, but slightly longer in time to achieve the full imprint, and for many smaller dinos (such as ptera), most likely impossible (to get it you need the smallest possible timer every single time, four times in a row). For a troodon, it's a 50/50 chance of getting 100%, and if you don't get it, you'll only get it to 57% or so.
Sadly it seems very very hard to get it so all dinos can get 100% (with any value for CuddleInterval). With 0.6 CuddleInterval, a ptera will be able to get 96% and have a 0.4% chance of getting 100%... This seems due to the sliding scale used when a allocating how long a dino has before its next 'cuddle'. Using a value of 0.8 screws imprinting for small dinos and makes it next to impossible to get a 100% imprint but is 'ok' for some bigger dinos. Theoretically 1.0 should be the best (please don't shoot me Munki, this takes time lol and I also have work) according to my data. Using a value of 1.0 means that you might not get 100% on all small dinos, but you'll get close. It does however mean that you are fine for most big dinos like spinos, rexes, gigas, quetzes, etc.
It seems whatever I do, some dinos will be able to get the 100% imprint, but not others >:(
Thanks should also go to 'bgrey_06' (Black Jesus) for helping with these calculations.
